Welcome to the University of Arizona String Project!
The UA String Project is designed to inspire and build creativity among young musicians and to cultivate a learning environment that enables the development of future string teachers. UASP is open to any K-12 students in the Tucson community to receive accessible music education on bowed string instruments. All instruction is provided by University of Arizona students who are receiving professional development and practical experience in string music education.
The UA String Project offers private lessons, ensemble rehearsals, solo recitals, and orchestra concerts and runs in alignment with the UA academic calendar. Group ensemble classes take place on Saturdays at the University of Arizona School of Music and private lessons are scheduled at a time that is convenient for the student and private teacher. Through the incredible generosity of a community donor, the UA String Project Endowment enables any student, regardless of financial circumstances, to study music.
The University of Arizona String Project is Directed by Dr. Kelsey Nussbaum.
